L03 to L05 5speed ECM/PROM Problems?

L03 to L05 5speed ECM/PROM Problems?

Hey guys, I'm considering a swap to a 350 from the 305 TBI in my 92 RS. I see that I can get a BRAND NEW L05 350 TBI engine for just over $1,500. I have done many searches on the swap but have one question unanswered...My car has a T-5, would this be a problem with the ECM/PROM with a new L05??? I know I would have to get a Caprice ECM/PROM and I'm positive they were all AUTO. So what's the deal with this??

You can change that in the chip. I would not use the caprice chip. I would really consider looking into burning your own. Tuning for the T5 is slightly different because of the engine load differences between shifts of the T5 and A4. You may need more pump shot in certian areas.
