New 350 - Need ideas on performance

Well, my father and I spent a few days puttin in my new engine and it runs great (from what I can tell so far.) I have a couple of buddys at work wanting to know what my engine is puttin out performance wise..but I can't tell them because I still have to break in everything b4 I know for sure. What I'm wondering is if I give the specs of what I put on it, could someone give me an est. of HP and 1/4 times?

The 350 was said to be out of a 88 Z28, but my father took the engine vin to his work (superior chevorlet in kansas city) and the computer said the engine alone puts out 280hp..which differs from what the tech stuff says on the site..so maybe its not outta a z28? anyway here is what I added...

CraneCam Energizer 272 H10
Specs

Edelbrock Intake Manifold
Performer 2101

Edelbrock Victor Series Water Pump 8811

Edelbrock fuel pump

Any ideas? rear end is stock outta my 85 Camaro (305 VIN: H) is it a 3.03?

Thanks for your help!!

edit: used same carb from the ol 305

what about exhaust ? headers? manifolds? catback? what are you running as far as pistons? rockers? stroked? destroked? carb?

and its still going to be hard to give you a close guess even its going to have to be ran at the track a couple times or dyno'd to get an accurate # . even a guess could be way off either way

carb, ignition, headers, exhaust. All of these are important. What heads does it have? Get the casting numbers from the heads and answer the other questions that have been raised and you may be able to get a rough estimate. Forget about what the motor had stock, its irrelevant now.

first off, let me start by saying sorry...sorry for being a dumbass. Me and cars really dont go good together unless im racing one.. Let me TRY to give a lil more info.

Everything on my car (unless i mentioned it) is the same from my 1985 305 cammy.

No headers yet, stock carb from the 85, and stock exhaust. ignition..well..all i know is that its made by accell (sp)

about the heads..no idea..
Sorry for being stupid..I cant help it lol

With the stock 305 heads w/ stock sized valves, the performer intake(which is really a stock replacement), and cam, I would say maybe 275-300. The water pump, and fuel pump wont make any difference.

there isnt anything special about "z28 heads" except that they are brobaly very restrictive in factory form even if its bored .040 over thats not gonna add anything extra to it except shorten the life of the engine by it only bieng able to be bored another .020 .....as for the rest of the package you have all together id have to guess about 275 hp but thats a rough guess

if i were you i would upgrade your exhaust intake heads and valve springs and go with a little bigger camshaft if it were me then you could possible bump it over the 350 hp mark :lala:

and as ljnowell stated it doesnt add any hp to your car for the waterpump.
