Well, I am no LS1 expert, but the LS1 is just another engine, and I think the same things apply to it as other engines. So, IMO, the only proper way to tell if a motor is good or its junk is to open it up and check it out. Inspect and measure everything...then You will know exactly what You got, and can deal with it accordingly...
Just my thoughts...

If somebody over-revved it enough that it floated the valves bad enough to bend the push rods, I wouldn't trust the crank or the connecting rods either.
Basically, every moving part inside it is probably now garbage, from the abuse. Unless it's REAL CHEAP, like less than $200 US (175 euros or thereabouts), it'll cost more in the long run than it's worth.

Thanx guys... well i thought about the engine work and thats more than a arm and leg over here!
The sec thought was to send the heads as core charge to the states and order stage 3 are heads put there website is pretty clear on that:..........after inspection of the costumer core the 800!!!!!!!!core charge will be paid back!
meaning they dont accept it; dump 180 in shipping and handling for nothing !
the "deal" makes me nervous cause the guy selling it sells vettes and works on vettes!
more people who wanna throw there 50ct in here?????

If there's piston or valve damage, a leakdown test will find it.
You need an air compressor that can deliver a nice constant 100psig, and the leakdown test instrument (two gauge device). Bring each cyl to TDC firing position, install the tester, and pressurize. < 10% leakdown is what you're looking for on all 8 cyls.

i bet 1000$ this engine came from a 6 speed with some one hammering the hell out of the gears and downshifting like a mad man.
anyways, GM knows these push rods are not all that strong. alot of LS1 owners with 6 speeds(myself included) change these out for hardend ones.
beleive it or not, this is actually common in 6 speed cars.

I think its still worth using. Just Because it has bent push rods. I would pull the cam out and make sure its not flatend in any spots. If the pistons look ok the bottem end should be good to go. Also since its out I would pull the pan and check the bearings. Usally the pistons will give before the crank and rods. The short blocks on those motors are pritty strong and can take alot of abuse.

Like others have said. Bent pushrods are common with LS1 and overreving. When I dd my cam and springs I upgraded the pushrods as well. Check out ls1tech.com it is a great resource.
