Probably a dumb question...but I need help
How can I identify a 305 from a 350 when it's in the car and I can't read the casting #'s.
I'm looking for an engine and don't know how to spot a 350 TPI Camaro/T/A from a 305 TPI

Engine: Al LT1 headed LG4 305
Transmission: TH350
Axle/Gears: 3.73 posi with spacer
No way except for casting or suffix numbers. You could always us a mirror to get back there and have a looksie. The way i would do it is get under the car and look at the side of the block the flat part. There might be the last 3 digits of casting # there. Also there might be the size 5.0L or 5.7L or 350 or 305 something like that.
