T5 on a LS1?

Can a t-5wc bolt up to a LS1? I know how much better a t56 is etc. Starting a ls1 swap and looking to use what I have until purchase of t56. If you are going to answer buy a t56 dude, don't bother just want to know if this is doable. thanks

T5's don't really stand a chance on a built 350. Don't expect any better on an LS1.

But I would imagine the swap could go either way.

#1 rule of the t-5 is to baby it with any high performance engine. Otherwise, its gonna blow up.

This is one of those questions I have never gotten a difinitive answer on. If a 700R4 will bolt to an LS1 why wont a T5? I dont doubt the people that say it wont, but why exactly wont it?

It will, but you need the v8 bellhousing and one bolt hole isn't going to have a bolt through it, but it from what i've heard, its still stable.

The flywheel will fit ON the back of the crank... clutch arrangement / depth on the pilot shaft maybe of concern....

Thats kind of what I was wanting to know. I figured it may have been something like that. You would think though, that if the 700r4 would bolt up, the manual would too.

Bolting it to the motor is the easy part, im just not sure on clutch depth for everything fitting correctly, since i've seen stuff on spacers for running the autos...

Im pretty sure the clutch depth would be the same because you can shove a lt1 t-56 on a LS1 no problem except the bolt hole as mentioned above. Believe it should have the same travel.
