LS1 Truck Coils
Hey guys.
I've got the motor from the donor car, but the dude sold all the coils and whatever mounts them to the motor.
I've heard the stock stuff has clearance issues, so I need to know what to buy.
Do I get the 6l truck coils and rails?
What are the part numbers for the parts I need? And where is a good place to get them?

The only thing that doesn't clear is the last coil pack on the passenger side. Check out thunder for the coil relocation kit (for the rails etc.). I don't know where you would get coilpacks other than a deal I guess.

I had to use truck style coils. The #8 coil wouldn't fit because of the A/C box. I just got the whole bracket and 4 coils from a 5.3L truck. It was pre-wired and plugged right in to my LS1 harness (white connector). I don't remember how much it was, but it was cheap (used).

Please someon, I need help. I've searched and found multiple part numbers. Which one is the truck coil pack, and where online can I get the coil pack and brakets I need for this swap.
I'm putting the motor back together with the cam and heads, so all I have to do is find coils, and start teh swap.

Geez...get cozy w/ a dealer parts dept guy and get him to check the part #s to see if they're different.
And then post the outcome here so it can help someone else down the road.

I was one of the lucky few who didnt have any clearance issues with the stock coils hitting the AC Box... yet I couldnt get at the rear head bolt so I got mad and broke it off and how I'm completely AC Delete... heh...
Getting the coils and mounts from the Dealer would be very expensive. I suggest giving Bruce at Hawks a call. He may have some truck motors with the truck coils. I ordered the mounts from him when I was doing my swap. Luckely my coils came with the engine and I had no issues so I could use stock. You can check junk yards and ebay too to find the truck coils. I did a lot of ebay buying when I did my swap.
