LT1 Alternator

Ok, I did a and all it did was confuse me even more. The alternator I have, has one wire on the LT1 harness in the L place which goes to the red wire on the white plug, and the pole to put the BAT wire on from the battery and I get no charge. Now, I have one plug from my old harness that has 12v constant on it, and either a black, or brown wire (hard to tell which color) that plugged into my original V6 alternator. Am I missing a wire or just need one of those hooked up...

thanks in advance

nope, that is all that goes to the alternator, large gauge for the battery, small gauge into the harness.
