Harmonic Balancer installation
I installed the damper on the car and noticed that there is a little over 1/4 inch gap from the damper to the timing cover seal. I installed the crank pulley and it lines up with the rest of the pulleys. Is it safe to leave it where it is at or should I keep pushing the damper until it is flush with the timing cover seal and use spacers?

Do you mean the back of the damper wheel or the snout of the damper lacks 1/4"?If the back of the damper is 1/4" and your pulleys line up,you should be good to go.But if the snout 1/4" from the seal, you got something way messed up going on,and you absolutely should not continue until you find out what's up.
