V6 to V8 guys plz come here

Hey all,

I just have to present a question here so that I can get an idea of what is needed to be done in order to get my car going.

Were any of you able to use the stock V6 wiring harness with the V8? The only thing that has me bugged is getting power to the coil thats in cap. My v6 had the remote coil. Someone tore off my labeling quite nicely and now I don't know which wire will go into the cap. If anyone can offer me some advice, I'll appreciate it.

Yes You can use the wiring harness.
Depends though if you plan on going carb, or FI.

I'm going from a carbed 2.8 to a carbed 5.7. My friend is telling me I need some 4 pin connector to go to the coil, but I don't have one in the harness... There is however, a grey connector that has a fat red wire... would that be going to the coil or module?

My manual sux and I don't have a helms... trickster helped me a while back but i dont think he gave me a wiring diagram for my car

You need an ignition on source for the coil. On my '88 is was a fat pink wire with a black stripe.

for coil in cap = just need the pink wire a ground and your tach. then you need the plug in connector between your dizzy and the cap but that should aleady be there. tach should be a smaller tanish wire and ground is black.

The wires/connector coming from the dizzy.... I think the module... where does that go to? I don't seem to have anything in my harness that connects to it...

lol ok, I thought so.

Now the fat pink wire, that will go where? Next to the module connector facing the front of the car?

yup, most times it grounds with the braided wire that runs from the firewall to the engine.

I have a double wire braided ground that came from the harness that I put to the back of the head. Same deal?
