Camaro to firebird swap
i just buaght an 86 firbird its got a 2.8 MPFI (5 speed) and i want to swap in a 5.7L 350 from my 82 camaro (auto) how would i go about doing this?...

first by reading the sticky in this forum, reveling in the fact that you have the donor car right in front of you. Then you sell the v6 parts to recoup the cost of the swap.

About the only issue I see, assuming your 350 is not computer controlled, is the tach. Firebird and Camaro dashes are different, as are V6 and V8 tachs. You may be able to swap the electronics board from the Camaro V8 tach to the Firebird V6 tach, but I don't know that for certain.

WOuld i need to get V8 instruments?? i know that you need speedos and tachs that are meant for the cylinders you have but what would i all need from a V8 dash for it to work and look good. I'm geussing i would need my camaros wiring harness and then just carb v8 guages?

swap over the 82 dash harness. I just finished putting in the 84 engien/dash harness in my 85 for the 87 engine
(assuming, yeah I said it, that you don't want the 82 anymore
)
and yes, getting a V8 cluster is the best & easiest way to go.
