305 to 350 TPI
Ok all, I did some searching and found some good information. I thought I would post to help get a little better idea of what I would be getting myself into if I go this route.
I have an 88 Iroc with TPI 305 LB9 with a T5. Its getting up there in miles, 116k and smokes a little on startup and is getting to where it needs a rebuild or replace.
I recently found a complete L98 setup for sale with ZZ4 roller cam, about 51k miles on it complete with TPI, ECM etc...
The current owner has a custom chip for it, that had a 700R4 in it. Can I just drop in the complete setup and change the computer from my stock 305 chip, to the 350's custom chip? or will the custom chip they previous owner has still have issues with my T5 ?
Anything else that I need to think about in this swap?
I am trying to decide how much work this is going to entail / if its worth going this route instead of just rebuilding the 305.
