2.8 to 5.0 tbi engine swap

Do I need to change the wiring under the dash to match the V-8 wiring? If not, what exactly do I need to change/not change?
The engine will turn over but it will not start and the fuel pump is not coming on and injectors are not spraying fuel!!
Should I change the V-6 wiring under the dash to the V-8 wiring?
Please let me know any info possible!! Ive been working on this for 2 weeks!! HELP!!!

Forgot to mention that the V-8 engine came from a 1989 Camaro and put in an 1985 Camaro!

I'd look into the fuel pump more than dash wiring.....Did you ground the block as well?

yes the block is grounded and the fuel pump was working just fine before I pull the v-6 out to put the v-8 in it.

did you use the v-8 engine wiring? or splice your v-6? The engine harness differs form year to year for some reason....I did the swap years ago and my speedo(electric)never worked.....I would try and check all fuses and if they are fine I'd run a hot wire to the fuel pump to test if it still works...you never know strange things happen

yes I put the v-8 engine wiring on the car. the v-8 came out of a 89 camaro and I put it in a 85 camaro. the 89 has that crappy vats security on it, so thats why I'm asking if I need to put the wiring from under the dash in my 85 so everything matches. I know that I have to put the chipped key and ignition cylinder in it also. So let me know.

The vats is for the column...do not use the 89 column in the 85 and you should not have any problem with it
