how many cans of spray paint needed to paint the engine bay!?!?!

how many cans of spray paint needed to paint the engine bay!?!?!
im painting the entire engine bay, underside of the hood, and cowl area....how many cans of the VHT engine paint should i buy to get the job done???

yea i would guess anywhere around 2-3 can's depending how big they are. I went threw about 4 but i was using a lot smaller cans then the average size.

Just a note make sure you scrub the engine bay really good. I scrubbed and washed mine for like 2 to 3 hours with a scotch brite pad and some soapy water. Half the paint came off when I did that. I then hosed it down really good, hit it with two cans of total prep, some primer, and then paint. It turned out really good. I skipped that step before and in about two months paint started chipping off.

yea i need to pick up some cans of primer i never do that step when i paint parts but defenitly need to. the engine bay and the rust in the floorboards (dammit) are a different story and defenitly will get primered.
