Car: 25th anniv. camaro
Engine: 305 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
need some assistance

im trying to decide,this to most is a no brainer but i want somthing a little different,i have a 1992 rs its got a 305 tbi,bout 180 horse now,i can get a 350 out of a dirt track car all it needs is the carb and distributer (around 400 bucks for the motor),i have a 700 r4 tranny,its not built or nothing,all stock,i dont want origional but i dont want somthing that every body else has,should i motor swap or upgrade my 305 for a high reving mustang killer or just get a 350,i figure if i get the 350 i iwll get a turbo 350 tans,now i dont have a whole lot of money around 600 a month,but most of that goes for insurance.also,what about a rear end swap,and some gears,im not sure what gears are in it now,but i was thinking some 4.11....i think the 350 has about 320 horse,but i dont know what work needs to be done to go from tbi to carburated,i would like the make the 350 fuel injected but i dont know the year of it.i think around 78

305 to 350 TBI, check out the stickies on the TBI forum.

"Dirt track 350" doesn't tell enough about it. If it's a claimer series engine, it would probably be okay with a cam change under TBI (probably okay with proper carb and intake). If something else, it probably isn't suitable for TBI, and may need some detuning (like cam) in order to have proper manners for the street.

The Transmission/Drivetrain forum is a good place to get info about the TH700 and gears.
