87 305 tpi to 87 350 tpi

I have a 305 TPI and I have the opportunity to purchase a 350 TPI car and I would like to swap the engine into my car. I was wondering if this swap is just remove and bolt in the new one. If there are any specifics that are different between them I would appreciate the heads up. Any advice about the ECM if I just have to swap the PROM's out or I have to get a new ECM, the wiring harnesses for the two engines if they are the same, and the vacuum lines. Also will all the accessories fit with the 350. Again thanks for the help.

Everything will be the same except for the knock sensor module and PROM (assuming you leave everything attached to the engine - the injectors and knock sensor are also different between 305 & 350).

Could you tell me a little bit more about the knock sensor module and how it is different between the two engines. Also the only computer work that i have to do is to replace the prom with one that is from a tpi 350 or is there more to it than that. Thanks again

The knock sensor module is located on the firewall in the rear driver's corner of the engine compartment. 305 and 350 units are tuned differently, and the sensor and module have to match.

Just as easy to swap the entire ECM, as you have to take it out to swap the PROM, anyway.
