The ait cleaner I have does not clear my stock hood. I would love to get a new hood, but unfortunatly, my funds and time do not allow that. However, I do think a dropped base air cleaner will work. I have an Edelbrock Performer 750 carb on a perfornmer RPM intake. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

does that clear the throttle linkage and everything? How big of a drop is that, 1 inch? Or more?

 

i have an edelbrock drop base, with a 14x3 K&N air filter, and also a wooden 1/2 inch spacer underneith my holley and the hood closes. I believe the air cleaner does rub the hood on rare occasions though.

 

I know that it can fit, I just need to know how much of a drop base I can use, is 1 inch too much, or will it clear the linkages? The reason I am asking is because there are a bunch of different drops available.
