due the usual,CAI intake, port lots of stuff, ive seen v6 headers out there, exhaust etc i wouldnt go with a 3" catback bc thats way too much for ur 3.1, idk how thats even gona sound etc.

the best thing u can do is drop a wrench in it and blow it. or fab up a huge TURBO!!!!! and that sucker will fly, u have enough room with that v6 and ull get better mileage than the v8. i would turbo that thing in a heartbeat.

the 89 had the turbo gta, nothing more than a buick 3.8 with a turbo and that thing was faster than the 5.7's, if u can fab stuff up that would be smart

see this post, depending on ur mechanical ability, and what tools u have u could install a turbo pretty cheap.

heres a writeup i did a while back on turbo install
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/v6/3...ing-turbo.html

a few other guys have followed this with great sucsess,i even lay out all the parts and cost for them all for u.

ur second cheapest option would be nitrous,if tuned prperly u could run upto a 150 wetshot, and would say no more then 50-75 dry shot
----------
also see this post, this is the latest 3.1 turbo project that is under way atm
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/powe...under-way.html

ttypecamaro also has a full v6 turbokit for sale in the classified section for 800$'s i think

The odds are stacked so far against you with displacement. A 305 is slow, a 3.1 is a lot slower. If you don't have the technical ability to do an engine swap, building your own turbo kit is also going to be way out of reach.

Re: HELP WHAT CAN I DO TO MY 3.1 TO MAKE IT FASTER!!!!!!!!!1

My stock 90 3.1 used to beat the 305s if they were stock carbureted...

The TPI cars used to get me (good) and I didn't race any TBI cars (that I know of)

The guy with the 84 Z28 was pissed, though!! He had a CC quadrajet...

All of that aside, there is still NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT. If you don't know how to do an engine swap then now is the time to learn.

Even a Buick V6 swap is a step up for you; you are on the bottom rung except for the 4 cylinder cars...

LOL the 305 carbed engines are as lame as lame come, so that is not the best comparison.
