hey guys just bought an 85 camaro v6 2.8L the engine is shot to hell. Block is cracked . I plan to swap it. The car has a standard tranny which I would like to keep.
Any suggestions for the engines. I know that if I get a V8 i need to change the tranny and standard trannies are hard to come by. I am new at this so please bear that in mind when you make the suggestion. Also if you feel like please let me know where i can find a good junk yard in Toronto.

 

You need an 87 or newer 2.8/3.1/3.4 from either an f-body or an s-truck. The 3.1 from the Isuzu Rodeo is also the same. Any of these engines will drop in with very little modification and you will be very happy with the results.
