v6 to lt1 possibly?
ok so i found access to a garage. and i found a 94 lt1 5.7 comes with tranny engine harness and pcm. its the complete stock engine with all sensors and the radiator as well. what else would i need. it would be going in a 1985 2.8 with a t5 manual. im not thinking i would need much else except the front end suspension. and yes i did read the post on swapping a v8 into a v6

Combine the V6 to V8 swap sticky with the LT1 swap sticky, and you'll be there.
The only suspension changes are the springs and sway bar.

Re: v6 to lt1 possibly?
thanks i found the lt1 swap guide. looks like it covers everything. and if what the guy is selling is actually what he's selling then i should have everything but the fuel pump, exhaust, and motor mounts. now the question can i get it all done before i have to go on deployment

They wouldn't let you do "hot rod stuff" back when I was in. For instance, I was taking the engine out of the '57 and putting it in another '57 with no engine or exhaust. All I had was headers, and they wouldn't let me bolt the headers up in the shop. I had to lay them in there, drag the car out of the shop, and hook them up elsewhere.
Hopefully they've loosened up a little since then.

Re: v6 to lt1 possibly?
from what ive been hearing you can do what ever you want in the garage. you just cant leave the car in there over night. they have a storage lot next to the place though. another thing i was wondering about is camshafts. would any 5.7 cam work? i cant seem to find any when i did a search for a 94 5.7 but when i choose the 3rd gen years i get a cam for those 5.7's

You need a roller cam, and one with the longer pin to drive the water pump/Opti.

Re: v6 to lt1 possibly?
Most manufacturers have a selection of cams made specifically for the LT1, don't do a search for 5.7's but specifically LT1.
