84 Camaro Engine swap

i was puttin a new engine in my car....what would be better a 383 or the ls1 ...and also what transmission would i need to have it work?

Which is the "better" engine, or which is "better" for swapping?

It's really an open-ended question. Without doubt, a basic 383 would be easier and less expensive than the LS1, and would take any 3rd gen or LT1 transmission.

From a long-term standpoint, it's hard to beat the LSx series engines. You have to use a transmission made or adapted for the engines, though.
