i have an 89 rs v6 an wanted to switch to 350,i want around 400hsp.I have a 1970 350 block(came out of camaro) question is whould it b beter to rebuild block with performance parts to make the 400 hsp or do a 383 stroker? an will my stock trany hold up to a 350 thanx

 

Well your question is vague. But the 383 will add more displacement but your gonna need "performance parts" either way. Forged everything, high comp pistons, the whole nice yards. But if your not sure which way to go cost both out. Keep in mind your tranny isn't the only thing taking abuse. Your rear end, chassis, brakes and suspension all need to be beefed up or prepare for frustration and aggravation. More details on your current car would be better. And if possible, try to find a v8 car to do the swap in so you don't spend as much, and read the stickies.

well in that case, it can go either way. I would just research what combinations work and cost it out like i said. thats what im doing with my block.
