tranny gone or converter done ?

the tranny was rebiult alil over a year ago, the converter went bad on it recently where the lock up whould not work and when it tryed to work the car vibrated. i swaped the converter to a dacco 2100 vette conveter, i put it in ran good and the lock up worked and got some stall for some performance, last nite was on the hwy wanted to pass some cars to catch up wit some ppl and when i hit it it downshifted to 3rd and the rpms went to like 5k then droped to like 4500, then strated to pull, then i switced it back in to od , then it went back to normal rpms untill i waned to speed up again, i lightly was pushing the petal to gain speed and the rpms jus went up from 2 to 3 with out pulling gave it some more gas stared to pull slow, then i went home casue did not want to get stuck,

this morning i went to drive it around the block to see whats going on , and it went thru 1-2-3 then when i switched it into od the rpms stood the same, i noticed i can rev the motor in od i was like WTF, tried it again now it whould not shift from 1st gear then checked the fluid , its clean and full , tried it again, then it was taking off in 2nd i dont know whats going on either converter or the tranny is done

check the clutch packs. they could be fried, chances are, if ****'s in the pan, it could be in the converter too, so I'd get em both checked.

doesn't matter when it was put in. stuff still could have traveled through and got into the converter, and could mess it up. as far as checking the internals..... if you KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING or don't mind learning/possibly breaking stuff, the take the whole thing apart. get a manual, and go to town on it. the clutch packs should be in the middle, towards the tailshaft, if I'm not mistaken. look around, and see what you find. if you don't feel comfortable with all this, then take it to a tranny man.

honestly, it sounds like clutch packs. but get the TC checked anyway, just to make sure it's safe.... but i think it should be fine. check the internals of the tranny, and rebuild it. if you go up to a tranny man with a tranny in the trunk, he'll probably check it for you for pretty cheap. good luck.

Did that DACCO 2100 vette stall work pretty well? I am thinking about getting one soon.

How much did you pay for it and where did you get it?
