Re: BBC header help

The cheapest and most popular for a BBC swap is the Hooker Supecomp swap headers. They're also the worst fitting.

From there, any other header that will fit properly is more expensive.

Re: BBC header help

I've shoehorned a 572 (Dart Big-M block, Dart 345 heads, "squared" motor) into my '91 RS. I went with Ed Quay's weld-up headers, which are 2 1/4" stepped up to 2 3/8" with 4" collectors. I had to get someone to come out and tig them up in the car. They came just tack-welded so they could be adjusted once in the car. I then had them coated at Finish Line Coatings.
My current battle is with the exhaust. The collectors are inside the transmission tunnel, and there is nowhere to go with 4" pipes. I've thought about notching the frame and turning out with 45* bends, but I don't know how much that will weaken the car. I've got the Southside lift bar kit welded in the car with subframe connectors.
Has anybody seen a car with this done (4" collectors in the tunnel)? Any advice?
Thanks,
Ronbo
