Can a 305 be stroked to a 383??

No, the bore of the cylinder is too small, it can only be stroked out to I think a 335.

Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
If I hit the calculator buttons correctly (and I checked it twice), you'd need a 4.3" stroke to get 383 cubic inches out of a .030" over 305 block. Since a 350-based 383 uses 3.75" stroke and the block oil pan rails have to be ground for rod clearance, good luck getting that kind of stroke into a 305 block.

A .030" over, 3.75" stroke 305 is a 334.

the biggest stroke i have seen in a SBC is a 4.0" stroke and thats in those 434ci monsters in dirt track cars. good luck if you try...
