V6 to 305
V6 to 305
I have a donor 87 TPI Formula and a T350 Transmission in the back yard. My current vehicle is a 92 V6MPFI Firebird. What all am I going to have to yank off of the donor when I do the swap? The Formula is a standard transmission, and I'm keepin an automatic, so what would I do on the computer end? Could I just burn a prom? Also, what will i do for the speedometer if my T350 is cable driven? Isn't mine electronically controlled? Any light shed upon this subject will be a great help to me.
One more question...Will my radiator hold up to the 305?

The bellhousing patterns are different between the two engines, so you might want to rethink the keeping the auto part. You'll need the computer, wiring harness, and motor mounts for sure. I don't know about the other stuff. Isn't the rad from the donor car availible? I'd also check the rear end to see if it's a better unit than you have now.

Well, i decided to go w/ a 350 instead...Might as well now instead of later. Anything I'm going to have to buy in addition to what i already have, such as an intake?
I don't know if the radiator's available or not, my uncle wants the car for a race car, i want the TPI, puter and all that.....

Offhand the only other thing I can think of is a trans cooler, your rad doesn't have one and the donor car is a stick so I doubt it has one in it either.
