I doing a v8 swap what tranny should I put in

Engine: 433 big block
Transmission: jw powerglide 5500 coan stall
Axle/Gears: moser9" 4:11 posi
i used a th350 because it's tough, allot cheaper than the others, torque converters are also cheaper. i bought a junkyard one for $50 and it cost me $200 to have it rebuilt.

I'm doing the same swap in an 86 and using a 700R4 from TPI. Sure it's more expensive but it's got a nice low 1'st gear and an oferdrive that will save you gas and wear on the engine. The 350 is tough, but TPI rates there 700 at 500 hp. More then I've got, or plan to get. If you're building a street car, I'd go with a beeffed up 700, if you want to drag race the 350 or 400 are cheeper and tougher and probably a better choice.
