Need Help Picking Out Engine Project

I'm starting a 383 project build-up. At first, I thought the set-up I was going to do would consist of Trick Flow heads, an Xtreme Energy Cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM, Holley 750, and the rest. BUT... now I heard about that Edelbrock set-up, with 420 horse. Their own heads, cam, intake, and carb. Which would be better? I really don't have an estimate for my original idea, so I don't know how that power would compare with Edelbrocks 420 horse. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nate

Can't give you much advice on the buildup idea... But I can suggest you go with a GMPP crate motor. You can get a ZZ430 clone for about $4,300. That is a fully assembled (comes with distributor and 5 quarts of oil!) time tested power plant that will give you 430 horsepower right out of the box and COMES WITH A WARRANTY!

You'll spend much more than that building your own. Then you have to worry about matching up all the components. Just an idea good luck on whatever you decide to do!

Actually, I've already done all the research on it, and I can put a 400+ horse one together for around $2,500. That's mainly because I have some of the more expensive parts already.
