86 305 tpi to 350 tpi swap Qs
hi there, i came across a 350 tpi motor and trans from a 89 Z with only 20 grand on it..my daughters 86 305 T/A would be a good transplant for it! what will this consist of? is the computer compatible? would i need to just change the chip? please give me your thoughts..thanks again

'89 was a unique TPI system. It was the only MAF TPI that didn't have the cold start injector.
If the system is '88, then the hardware is the same as your '86 except for the angle of the center two base mount bolts, injector size, and knock sensor/module. Meaning you could use the '86 harness and ECM with the '88 system and just change the chip.
But, if it's the '89 TPI system, you can put the '86 plenum w/cold start injector on the '89 engine/base, run the '86 harness & ECM (changing out the chip isn't that important with MAF).
