Long block 350 for around 1k?
Is it possible to get a quality 350 longblock to replace my 305 with a blown piston for around(to under??) $1000? I know I can get a Recon for $800, and I dont want to start that whole "Only GM goodwrench engines work" debate, partially because it could not be true, and partially because some of it is. Emissions legality is essential(tree hugging bastards) unfortunatly, so does anyone have any good stories to report? The engine will be supercharged like the 305 before it, so it would be nice to find decent power with mild compression(9.5:1 or under).

over your $1000 marker but http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=128&pid=105 has nice new 350 engine. or you could go with a L98 short block http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=514&pid=620 and put some world class sportman heads on it and make good power before the super charger and A LOT with the supercharger.

Seems like thats the only chevy engine reseller that anyone here endorses. Is Scoggin Dickey really that much better than anyone else. Prices seem pretty high for the most part. Checking those now....

hmm maybe I should eat my words. That first engine looks very good, and these are the first people that I have talked to that I actually liked. Anyone else here had good results with that one?
