All Those Who Have Done 305 TBI to 305/350 TPI Swap. **PLEASE STEP INSIDE**

Hi,

I presently have a 1992 Formula with a 305 TBI, and 700R4. I am converting to 350 TPI, Speed Density. I have some final questions before I buy all the parts I need to do this swap.

1) Do I need a different Fuel pump than my stock TBI one?

2) Do I need different fuel lines or can I use the TBI one's?

3) Do I need a different charcoal cannister or can I use the TBI one?

Thanks in advance to all who can help, I've never done a fuel injection swap before.

jtmiller92,

Hi, I'm in Lancaster County, Virgina. I was born at Fort Belvoir (DeWitt Army Hospital), though. I'm getting the car done at No.1 Auto Repair in Stafford(recommended fairly high on MAFBA). I've got a ton of info already on this swap, these are just the remaining questions. I thought I needed a new fuel pump, too, but the guy whom MAFBA recommended says I don't. I'm a little worried. At least I can point this out to him.

Also, when it's all done I'm going to write a big parts list and what's needed and post it somewhere.

you need to change the4 fuel pump to a 45-50psi fuel pump and for doing that you need to drop the rear-end. you can keep your good old canister and also keep you fuel lines. since you are doing a tpi swap, you will need to custom fabricate fuel line from the engine to rubber fuel fitting on the driver side of the engine .

hope this help and hang in there.

Hi, I was out of town, otherwise I would have thanked you earlier. This is exactly what I needed. I dropped the car off Monday, so naturally this helps me a lot since I still have to buy parts.

Hi,

The engine is a 1986 Corvette L98, but I'm converting it to a Speed Density version. It's going in my '92 Formula. I am unable to do the swap due to time constraints, so I'm having it done.

I thank you for any help you can provide.

Have you run a 1/4 yet with your LT1? I was curious as to how it's done. I love your swap, but I wanted my car to have the appearance of stock.

Thanks again.
