4.3 v/8

will the crank from the 2nd gen 4.3(caprice) fit into the 1st gen block?if i was to make a 327 using an 88 block and the above mentioned crank would it physically bolt togeth?er

87 trans am,gm crate 350(4 bolt mains 10to1),L98 aluminum heads,LT4 hot cam,slp runners,slp 1 5/8 headers,3in.y-pipe,edelbrock base,hi flo cat,air foil,afpr,as&m ported plenum,gutted airbox,t-5 tranny w/centerforce clutch and a 3.27 9bolt(11.9in. brakes),ed wright's fastchip,relocated iat sensor,160 fan switch&t-stat,tb bypass,accel supercoil,cap& rotor,slp 3in. catbcak,a/c delete.

SHE IS GONE BUT I KNOW THE GUY WILL GIVE HER A GOOD HOME.

that crank and a one piece rear main seal 350 block will get you a 302 not a 327. Unless you put it in a 400 block. I don't know how you would get it in a 400 though. Rear seal adapter?? It would be a waste of a 400 at any rate.

A 4.3 is a 6 banger so no it wouldent fit. Now if you were talking 327 crank with a 350 block that can be done.

SSC there was a 4.3L version of the LT1 put in the caprice. It's called a L99. A small v8 would run smoother than almost any v6(especialy an American one) so they gave the old folks the L99 in their Caprices.
