Wiring problems during the swap..
I'm switching from TPI to carb. The TPI engines out and I'm working through the wiring harness. The main ECU harness goes through on the passenger side, and another smaller harness goes through on the driver side.
Question: What the heck should I keep?
I'd like to use the electric fuel pump, and keep the stock dash gauges. Has anyone had experience with this kind of swap.
Oh yeah, I'm selling the 305 TPI so I can't cut the harness up totally.

I have gone through my harness in replacing a 305 TPI with a ZZ4. It is almost impossible to keep what you would like to keep and give someone the rest of the harness that is in a useable condition.
The main harness from the right side and the smaller harness from the drivers side are connected and easily taken apart.
I would suggest that you remove the harness and figure out what you want to keep, label and cut wires at the connectors and run new wires.
BTW there are quite a few other things in the harness that you may want to keep (wiper motor wires, ac wires ect.)
There is no easy way out of this one. Just take your time and label everything. Good luck.
