Help! Serious Problems Here, and no where to turn! Looking for advice...
Here is the deal, I have an 86 Iroc Z, It had a hacked and messed up 305 tpi in it. everything was rigged and it ran like ****. Well I got an 88 Trans Am with a completely Original Awesome 350 TPI. the car was a mess so we cut it up, sorry guys. but we saved all the wires, harnesses etc. We also removed the entire cooling system, motor, and drivetrain. Our plan was to basically take the entire system and replace it in the iroc, so we removed the motor, and everything else, harness and ecm, we swapped the entire setup, we replaced the harness and the ecm, the only real problem is the harness setup on the drivers side of the firewall where part of the harness clips in and enters the car. also there is a hookup with three wires next to the ecm in the car that we cannot account for. well thats what we did and here is the result. when i turn the key the engine turns but there is no fuel or spark, and thats all i can account for right now, the fuel pump does not kick on, little to know action, there is no spark, and its a dead ringer. the differences between the new motor and the old are the new one has the entire serpentine setup inclkuding different alternator, and etc. the cooling system is the dual fan setup, the distributor has the externally mounted coil, and whole crapload of sensors and etc that were hacked off the the original 305. the 305 was hacked and had a standard hei distributor, and lack of the serpentine setup and the front end. i need help figuring this out, i cant put it all together what all comesout of the harness on the drivers side of the firewall. how can i do this. please help me. any help would be great. thanks alot in advance.

Go buy two factory shop manuals: one for the '86 and one for the '88. Use the wiring diagrams to trace down what each had and what you need to connect on the '88 system to get it to work. Those books are expensive compared to the Chilton's you get at Zoned-Out Auto, but you get your money's worth.
When I did my swap, I took the entire front end of the car harnesses out (except the lights) and switched them - engine bay, dash, ECM, etc.
Most likely, something was disabled by the TPI hack job in the '86 that you didn't pull from the '88. I can't tell you what that is, but that would be my guess.
