Look in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). I wondered the same thing, all the answers are there.

You need TTA heads (3.0 FWD heads essentially), TTA pistons (deeper dish, the GN pistons and the TTA heads will yield about 9:1 static CR, the GN's and stock TTA's have 8:1, TTA headers and downpipe. Thats about all the TTA specific stuff ya need, GN block, intake, turbo, injectors, intercooler (the TTA cooler is a little different, but the GN cooler will work) will all work, as well as GN tranny and GN rear (8.5 rear instead of a 7.5). That's the meat of the project, good luck .

Are you sure? I thought the TTA's got the same 8.5 rear as the TR's? I guess you would know more than me though, being as you own one

You can put in a GN engine right in as long as you delete the AC. If you want AC then you need to do the FWD heads as mentioned above along with the TTA specific exaust. headers. The rear end on a GN is a lot stronger but will not bolt to a Camaro/Firebird. it is a 4 link coil sprung design. It would need to be converted to the f-body coil sprung 3 link + torque arm design.

Actually Kyle the TTA rear ends are not that strong. People think they are more strong than they really are. If you have the money go for a Ford 9 bolt. You will not have to worry as much with it.

I wouldn't(in fact I didn't ).You'd have to combine the GN harness with your original harness, personally I think the outcome would be better with a TTA harness, which by the way you can still get from Caspers Electronics.Or you may find one(or two)used like I did.

Also,I personally think the stock 9 bolt is weak but I can't deny hearing of them lasting with some serious power.I myself put a whole season(at least 80 runs)of 1.60-1.63 60ft's on one without problems.

If anyone is interested,I just got a digital camera and have been taking pictures and documenting everything that I've been doing getting my swap done.Just shoot me an email,TTA850@aol.com,I'm glad to help.

I put 300+ runs on my 9-Bolt with a Best 60ft of 1.60 on it. I now have a Dana 44 but the 9 Bolt is still kickin with 103K miles on it.

Get a new TTA harness from Caspers and save yourself some time.
