385 roller sbc build pics

After pulling the top end off my L98 for a clean and polish I decided to buy a used stroker shortblock to replace the original. I found a 385 shortblock with 3k miles and 30 runs on it that dropped a valve for $650 and have been slowly freshing it up. I thought Id post my pics.

This is the block when I first got it, I had the cyliders touched up with a hone, crank ground 10 under, starter pad re-welded(cracked off), replaced the damaged piston, added valley venting tubes, arp bolts for the mains and heads, all new bearings and the heads got a 5 angle valve job, springs shimmed and straightened the deck.

We layed the upper plenum on the fuel rail and mocked up the paxton to see what it would look like.

Lol, its not orange. The flash on my camera makes the red look orange. All of my friends who have seen pics ask me why I painted it orange

Re: 385 roller sbc build pics

Today I got the radiator, trans cooler, headers, plugs, some wiring, msd billet distributor and throttle body dropped in. The throttle body was ported at home to 52mm and larger blades were added.
