305 tpi tp 350 tpi PLEASE HELP
Hey guys be gentle i know there is a mountain of info about this swap on here, and i have read quite a bit but i still have a couple questions. i have a 85 trans am 305 with a 700r4 tranny. I am building a 350, i purchased a 85 corvette tpi prom from hypertech, but the guy couldnt assure me this would work, does anyone know if it will, from my understanding they didnt make transams with 350s that year. also i know i need a 350 knock sensor and 22 lbs injectors, do i have to have the esc module or will the 305 work for the time being? also will the knock sensor for the same year corvette work? the 350 that i am building will pretty much be stock no high performance. sorry to ask so many question i just really want to make sure i do this right. Oh, and this will primarily be a daily driver, just want it to be peppy. i think that covers it thank you in advance for any help you can provide

I don't know all your answers, but I suggest it won't matter much which knock sensor you start with. There is a near-free trick if you find you need to reduce the sensitivity of it.

thanks for the info... ill search the forums for that, im still courious about the esc module though i cant find hardly anything on it, i didnt really wanna mess with it until i found out whether or not the corvette prom will work correctly, if it doesnt im out 150 bucks
anyways if anyone else out there has some expierence on this, your feedback would be very much appreciated, on a sidenote i would like to start a thread with detailed pic and information as i start this on thru the finish for people to reference. anyways as always thanx for any input

the 85 vette prom should work. ESC module, injectors, and knock sensros should be all you need to change.

ok rabbit thanx a bunch, ive pretty much got everything in order except that module, i have no idea where to find one and the guy at hypertech was far from helpful. we have a shortage of salvage yards around here so finding an 85 vette will be nearly impossible, anyone have any idea where i can find one. You all have been very helpful,ill start my picture diary tomorrow

I'm in a similar boat as you. I had a 305 and now have a 355tpi. I'm still running the 305 computer and injectors and knock sensor. So the car is running pretty rough right now. Next weekend I'm going to the junkyard to get 24lb lt1 injectors and 350 knock sensor and module. I'll keep an eye out for an extra esc module for you. Any 350 esc module will work, even from a truck...

thanks or your input, a 355 is what im having to go to as well, just got word from the machine shop, they had to bore .30 over cause of some scarring. I have a knock sensor and a 350 prom. when you say it runs rough, im courious is it driveable? i kinda wanted to wait a little while before i went to heavier injectors. thats another 200 bucks, i intended to change them just didnt want to do it right away, anyways i look foward to talking with someone that had done this already, thanks for your input
