Truck motors?

I've seen what looks like pretty good deals on the v8's that came with the full size blazer's/pickups that are 350's (tpi's i presume). outside of suspension/drivetrain/rear axle issues, what (if any) would have to be done to them to configure them for a 91 camaro convertible with a v6 currently under the hood?

i looked under the sticky regarding the swap from a 6 to a 8 and nothing was mentioned about the truck motors.

Depends exactly what motor it is. Original SBC similar to a third gen is a normally a straight forward direct swap. LT1 is relatively easy. LS engines take a bit more work to swap over.

The only difference between a car and truck engine may be the oil pan design. Trucks may also have a different cam grind designed to make low end torque required for trucks.

Trucks never came with TPI. Starting with '87, they did get TBI, but the 193 heads are for low-rpm TQ. '87-up blocks are preferred, because they make it cheap to go with roller lifters. Considering where you're starting at, your dream find would be a '96-up Vortec 350, the RPO code is L31.
