14102183 heads? With1.6 rockers

I have these heads on my 89 l98 that use to have the aluminum heads but not anymore, the car runs real good I'm surprised how it runs and I'm wonder what heads these are 14102183 and what's the max lift they can handle they was in a 87 ss Monte Carlo but I don't know if they was stock or not. But the motor is stock besides headers and an intake, ignition and Holley carb and I want to put 1.6 rockers on the car but I don't know if that's smart or not, what does everyone think, if I wasn't clear just ask any ?s

Are you sure that's an "8" and not a "9"?

Yes I'm looking it right now, maybe it could be a 9 cuz the 8 does look alil wierd and not even circles. If it was a 9 what's the cc on the heads and max lift? It's probly about 470lift?

those are 193 heads. I don't know if you're trying to find out how mystery they are, they're super common. Came on every tbi 350

Only mystery is I'm told they're 183 and I don't see any listing for a 14102183... Only 193...

yeah they're totally 193. If I go digging in the garage I'm guessing the set I have has the same "wore" out looking casting number. No 183 out there.

I'll be rebuilding the engine this winter. Nothing special outside of complete rebuild... May put set of headers on for little sound... Doubt any upscale on camshaft and lifters will do much if anything... Solid motor, runs very well... Have low oil pressure and already tried 3 different oil sensors so that tells me the crank bearings are going...
What's your thoughts ? I'm open for suggestions...

flat tappet cam or roller tappet? 193 heads are fine on a small cam, low rpm engine. Something like a fbody LT1 cam (or .450ish lift 200 duration) works with them. Lots of options if you want to spend the time on it.
Low oil pressure on the dashboard gauge? I never trust a dashboard gauge. Check it with a good mechanical gauge to verify. Is it making any noise? If you're going to pull the engine to rebuild, you may as well inspect it and see if the rebuild is needed. If it needs bearings but cylinder walls are great (good compression) then just do bearings. Find it's pretty beat and needs everything? May just be better off (cheaper, easier) getting a new vortec long block. You'd need a new intake manifold tho but in the long run it's a better deal and will outperform the 193 heads handily.

No idea on flat tappit or rolling one... Going more for power pulling over racing but not building a modified puller...
