been having alot of problems with this swap that have been an easy fix 1.starter wiring 2.engine seized(which was really a bolt in the cylinder stuck in the piston and now 3. it turns over but wont fire i get a hiccup and flames out the headers and im not sure if its the timing i've turned it alll the way around and still nothing and i had brought the cylinder to number one and dropped the dizzy in pointed at the number 1 cylinder sooo any ideas would be helpful even if you think its not right willing to right ill give it a try lol

We need details. What swap? We don't have any info other than you swapped (something).

 

sorry it was from 2.8l carb to 350 carbd

 

Sounds like your Diz is installed 180 Deg off
are you sure you have the correct 18436572 order...

Check your rotor location.. take your # 1 plug out when you have the tab @ TDC
and insert a straw... to see if your piston is on top

 

i think my order is wrong i had it as 18247356 lol or is that how it goes on the distributor looking at the front 1 being on the right 8 on the left 2 above the one 4 above the 8 ect. lol i have to check in the morning i hope thats all it is

 

never mind i just realized what i said was retarded lol long day at work

 

ok she fires lol im slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww i can not stress that enough lol must be those 14+ hour days 5 times a week at work lol so i have finally got it to run but no more then a couple of seconds i had a 750 carb on it but it wouldnt run changed the carb started no problem but cant get it to idle
any ideas?

it should run with a 750 carb, if you bought it new fallow the carb install instructions on setting idle and air fuel ratio and then adjust the screws from there.
