'91 RS 305 to 350
not to change the subject, but I have a somewhat related question. In the long run, will it be easier/cause less problems to swap the tbi 305 in my car with a carb'd 350 or just toss the 305 tb on the 350?

Re: 305 HO to 350 engine swap
As long as the swap is done properly, either is fine. Its up to you which one you're more comfortable with.

Re: 305 HO to 350 engine swap
Well obviously I would rather keep the fuel injection system than switch to a carb but I was just afraid of computer issues. Will I have to modify the ecu/programming if I'm building a 300 horse 350?

The 305 throttle body will fit on the 350 but you will need 350 injectors. I did the same thing on my '95 GMC truck. Don't believe I had a problem hooking up the 02 sensor.

Re: 305 HO to 350 engine swap
Get a knock sensor for a 350. You can buy new ones for not much money. Get one for a 350 TBI or an L98. They are probably the same. All you should have to change is the knock sensor and the fuel injectors for 350ci units. Computer tuning will have to happen too, more than likely.

Re: 305 HO to 350 engine swap
Ok that makes sense. I figured since I am embarking on this project I will go ahead and beef it up some. If I am going to do the whole bigger cam etc etc and push somewhere around 350 hp will I need to consider any other components to be changed out?
After this question I hope to be able to finally have enough info to start on this darn swap. So bear with me
