help swapping 350 into 87 sport coupe
I have a 87 sport coupe, 2.8 L. i want to swap a 5.7 350 into it. I am wondering where to start. I know i need to get all new suspension components and I am curious about what parts I will need. Thanks.

Getting a tranny too? Can't put a V8 onto a V6 tranny!
There's a 'sticky' at the top of the engine swap forum on V6 to V8 swaps - start there.
Oh, and welcome to TGO!

OK - as long as you know about tranny.
Suspension - I'd redo it all, but that's me. Biggest issue is springs, V8 springs rated more weight than V6 springs. But at this age, you really need new struts/shocks, tie rods, centerlink, idler arm, ball joints, sway bar bushings and endlinks.
Definitely get a wonderbar or steering brace - the IROCs had them but ALL 3rd gens should have one - keeps from getting stress fractures on the frame by the steering box since these cars are so stressful with steering design. Snag a used one at JY/ebay/whatever, or get a new one from www.top-downsolutions.com .
