If you took the ECM out, the VATS won't allow the car to start.

Check the tech articles linked from the thirdgen.org homepage. You can also on the topic.

Re: HELP WONT TURN OVER

Is the starter turning, or is the starter turning but car not running? Everyone states a car won't start or turn over, and I'm always confused.

Re: HELP WONT TURN OVER

If the starter relay behind the driver kick panel is bypassed then it should crank. But clarify for us what motor before carbed or TBI or TPI or CFI and what do do have now. I would assume carbed as you said you took the ecm out.

I'm no VATS 'spert, but as I understand it, without the ECM the VATS system cannot work. You need to totally bypass it, not just the resistor.
