Engine mounts
Any one know why the difference in mount brackets and why it seems that all of the after market mounts fit left and right yet my 3 3rd gens all had different mount brackets on the engines and they seem to position the engine 1" off center?

Re: Engine mounts
This just came up a couple of months ago.
But notice that the valley in the crossmember is quite a bit off center, towards the passenger side. The stock mounts, and my Moroso solid mounts, somewhat counter that. The Moroso does it in the frame parts, while GM did it with the block parts, but they all get the same result.

Re: Engine mounts
Thanks for the feedback and link. I'm still not getting a clear picture as to why the engine was positioned off center apparently from the factory. I have checked three other 3rd gens that are daily drivers with OEM mounts and the results have all been identical. The same on TBI, TPI, and carb. One friend suggested the engine will maybe pull itself over to center under acceleration. I just thought someone out here would maybe have an answer for why they did this. I appreciate all the pointers on how to correct it. Going to stop by Ricks Camaros in Anthens GA and talk to them.
