my 85 z28 has 71k orig miles it is a 305 tpi. I have found a jasper 5K mile 350 for around $500. It has paperwork. he claims it has bigger fuel injectors. Is it worth swapping if my motor has nothing wrong with it. I don't plan on doing any kind of upgrades just drop it in. I Know this 305 to 350 swap has been argued time and time again, but because theres nothing wrong with my set up i am unsure and if im not modifying this New 350 is it really worth swapping? Any help is appreaciated.

 

my car is rust free as well and straight, from a performance standpoint stock to stock is it worth it

 

Without knowing details on the Jasper engine, such as heads and cam, I wouldn't make a call on it. You could end up with a boat anchor that doesn't have any more power than the 305.

 

by the time you swap it in it will probably cost you 1000 dollars replacing things that break and making it work with your computer.

 

'85 TPI is MAF. The computer won't have any problem with it (although changing out the knock sensor and module would be a good idea).

 

This is what i am afraid of, to my knowledge it was built to stock specs minus the fuel injectors, if my motor was bad this would be a no brainer but the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" comes into play.

 

But, stock "what"? Could be a "stock" truck, "stock" TBI, etc. More information needed.
