Wanting to swap my V6 for a V8
I want to do an engine swap in my car, I want to swap for a V8 or 350 kind of engine. My questions are probably only going to grow as this goes on; but my first question is are there any suggestions on the type of engine to swap?
Pros and cons of both style engines. I am more partial to a 350 because I just like the mental picture of a beautiful engine inside my car.
Also what kind of difficulty do you think this is? I am in a mechanics school right now, hence why I bought an older car to kind of learn and play with while I am in school; I don't have any great experience aside from changing fuel pumps, filters, exhausts, serpentine belt, radiator and wheels and brakes. Price isn't an issue, it is a project it isn't something that I will put together overnight.
Thanks for any help or advice.

There is a sticky in this section that will have all the info you could want regarding this. Check it and see if it answers some of your questions.

Alright definitively didn't know that; pretty new to the whole forum thing. Thanks.

Oh. Haha. Well which one is easier to add things to and work on in general? For example say I wanted to supercharge i later; which on would be easier and more reliable for that? Also I am used to foreign cars, my other car is a 240sx

What are we comparing? V8 to V6?

Yeah, I just want to know if it is worth swapping engines, I want to eventually make my Camaro into an autocross/race kind of car but still street legal. Is adding upgrades and such to a V6 easier then adding them to a V8?

The swap has some difficulty to it when going from v6 to v8, the sticky will clue you in on that. But the aftermarket vastly favors the v8. The v8 will be much easier to make power with. There are guys with pretty nice turbo v6s here but mod for mod the v8 will almost certainly win out.
