Advice easiest and cost effective 92' v6 3.1 to v8
Hey guys good to talk to you all on here agian. I just got another bird this one is red! since I last posted i've gained tons of experiences with my friends in the garage replacing my saturn motors. Now to the point. I'm looking to hopefully find the cheapest and easiest swap to meet my goals.
Goals :
What Engine would be the best route to go? ALSO I will want to make my auto a stick; so the swap needs to have a tranny and adapting parts to fit.
Goals :
- Easiest to swap (less parts needed to convert)
- Power close to a lt1 or faster, if easy enough Big block will do
- Cost I dont have a couple grand to do this.
- Tuning (don't have a tuner) (dont know anything about wiring harness)

Honestly if you want decent power, and reasonable cost, your best bet right now would be an LT1
Going manual increases the cost a good bit, no matter what, so that isnt going to help with the budget issues.
Buying a parts donor car will turn out best in your favor, but LT1's are in u pull junkyards enough now that its not a bad choice either.

Your goals cancel each other out.
LT1 power + auto to manual swap + don't have a couple grand = no.
You're not ready. Buy a running donor car. Have $1,000 just for extras. You can get any ol' carb v8 junk running under your hood for cheap, but it won't be near Lt1 levels.

It can be done. Its just going to take some patience and a local u pull it.
I know local to me the LT1 and a T5 would cost under $500, everything said and done under $2k reasonably.
