Vortec alternator mounting options

Got my motor installed and ready and found out that the brackets I got off an 87 firebird 305 tpi won't work, I found a didn't set off a camaro tpi, will these work or do I have to get a set off a tbi? I'm running a carbed l31 cortex motor with an eldebrock proformer intake, what have others done for alternator mounting brackets?

I used my 92 TBI brackets on my vortec heads... no issues. Why is it that yours wont work? As far as I know Vortecs have the same mounting holes as every other 1970+ sbc head.

right now I'm trying to use a the brackets from an 87 firebird tune port injection and there isn't any adjustment length for the upper bracket. So I found a complete bracket setup for a camaro and the upper brackets look longer, also note I'm using v belt brackets. Can you post pictutes up of yours please?

I have a v6 and a v8 alternator here and while the v8 one fits there isn't enough room for the upper bracket to mount and I don't have the correct plug for it.

What type ALTs are they?
You can get plug in harnesses to adapt old style GM SI ALT to later style CS series ALT ( 130 or the larger 144 used on LT1's )

i bought this cheap, chrome bracket at a speed shop. sorry, i doubt i have a part number. i used most of the factory 87 brackets, belts etc. its half v-belt and half serpentine. i might be able to get you some brackets, pulleys, etc., if needed. a friend of mine passed away awhile ago and was building an 87 at the time. his wife has been selling stuff lately. heres a few pics, hope it helps.

I like this, I saw something like this in my summit catalog today actually, and all I need are the brackets and a good alternator.
