i had a 305 tbi got tired of it so i dropped in a carbed 355 i seperated the harness i know everything on the driver side can stay. there are a couple things im unsure about theres a wire that had starts as 2 orange and then turns to red one side goes into the pass side and the other there is a black peice that has all the ac controlls does any one know what the other side goes to in the car?

 

orange / red to passenger side must be fusible link to starter.

 

i believe that 2 into 1 wire goes to your starter...if you could get pictures of the wires that would be more helpful

yep that orange to red goes to the starter and the black piece is for your a/c

 

ahh ok well i guess thoes wires are just going to sit around since i got rid of the a/c. and is there one main wire that powers the fuse block or the windows and the lights etc

 

that orange and red gives power to your car so that will go on the big starter bolt along with your red wire from your battery

 

ok cool and where do the wires from the alt go to?

 

there will be a plug somewhere in your harness that will plug into the alt that plug will also have a short red wire coming off of it with an eyelet ont the end that shrt wire will go on the back of the alt. as well as the thin wire coming from the positive battery wire

 

yea i found a good schematic and everythings wired up and has power only poblem is the fuel pump wony turn on

 

chances are if you unplugged the ecm the fuel pump wire was on that side..not 100% sure but pretty sure that what happened you need to put a manual fuel pick up in the tank and a mechanical fuel pump on the block now that your running a carb

 

i bought a regulator kit im gonna hool the pump to a switch not sure which wires the power and ground

 

yeah im not to sure hopefully another member can chime in or it might be in your diagram

 

With the ECM gone what mods have you done to suit the carb install?
You have nothing to run the pump anymore and you can't use EFI fuel pressure to the carb if it did
What are you doing about the convertor lockup now the ECM is gone?

 

for the lock up i put the tci lock up in the 700 and for the fuel pressure i bought a fuel pressure regulator thatll knock down the pressure to 6.5lbs for the carb so i can keep the fuel pump

 

But what did you do to supply power to the pump since the pump relay operated by the no longer there ECM will no longer work?

 

i havnt done anything yet, but im gonna power the pump with a 12v source on a switch so i can turn i it on and off

 

on the fuel pump relay theres a single red wire if you power that the fuel pump turms on
