82 Camaro v6 2.8L to v8 350 sbc Swap
82 Camaro v6 2.8L to v8 350 sbc Swap
I started out in the V6 section because I thought we were going to just fix the v6. But it has turned into a v6 to v8 Swap. Here's the original thread. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/v6/6...maro-2-8l.html
We are switching a 2.6L V6/TH200 to a 5.7L V8/TH350.
Is there anyway to get around having to buy a Torque Arm for the TH350 Tranny in a stock 82 Camaro?
Would it be ok to use washers under the Engine Mounts so we wouldn't have to move the brake lines?
Also need some advice on what style Headers to get that would leave clearance for a Stock starter.
Thanks in Advance.

There's no way around buying the relocation bracket for the torque arm. And you need to move the engine mounts forward on the k member anyways so after you move them you can reposition the brake lines with little force.

Using washers under the engine mounts would bring them closer together, and keep them from aligning with the engine.
As said, you can easily reposition the brake line. It doesn't take much to rebend and reroute it.
If you use a 153-tooth flexplate/flywheel, any 3rd gen specific headers will clear the starter.
