IT RUNS!!! Engine is running as I type. Thanks for all the help! There's a couple little things that need to be finished but at least it's running! The alternator isn't charging so I need to check my connections.

Ok well now it's charging but it's putting out 15.2 volts. Is that too much or is that ok?

Hey tuned could the fact that my ECM isn't tuned cause the engine to smoke at idle? I thought it was the header paint at first but that should be finished smoking by now. How long should it take new header gaskets and paint to quit smoking?

Smoke from under the hood or out the exhaust ? I have used VHt exhaust manifold paint and with three heat cycles it will still smoke a little .

Well I've just got headers on it right now and the smoke is hazing kind of everywhere but out the exhaust mostly I think. It burns your eyes if your around it too much if that helps lol. And my idle stays between 1000-1200 rpms which seems a little high.

I think this header paint is what's smoking. I thought it would be done by now but I guess not.

Alright that's fine. As soon as that gets here I can put it on and drive to the exhaust shop and get my exhaust put on. Then ill actually be able to hear for leaks and if I need to tighten my rockers a little.

Those are the dual fan wires, the longer one is the primary drivers side

Hey is the iac motor supposed to stop some time when you ground out pin A and B when adjusting your minimum idle speed? Mine just keeps whining. I'm trying to figure out why my idle is so high, it stays between 1200-1400 rpms and drops to 1000 in gear.

It will still make a noise when commanded in. The iac is ratcheting while its bottomed out.
Make sure you unplug the connecter while commanded in then make the minimum adjustment.

I drove it today. Runs good but still needs some fine tuning. I need to get one of those cables so I can hook my laptop to the car and fine tune the iac and tps. There's something up with my steering. I have all new tie rods and sleeves, no alignment yet but got as close as I could with a tape measure and my steering is really loose and feels sort of like its rolling over a "bump" in some spots when turning.

Hey what exactly could be making it run as rich as thing is? It'll have some small backfires on decel and I'm getting absolute crap gas mileage. Timing is at ~5* BTDC, should It be advanced more? I guess it could still need a tune as well but would that help significantly?

Base timing should be 6 degrees. If its 100% stock than you should be fine with the stock tune

Engine is a 4 bolt main 880 casting out of a 94 truck, supposedly has notch too pistons, roller cam with .510 lift don't know duration and roller lifers and flat tappet valves. I haven't had the engine apart so I don't know the truth behind that.

I can help refine the tuning. Its sounds fairly rich or a vss issue. DFCO
Decel fuel cut of is set on decel so the poping is a rich condition or the cut off time need to be increased. I wouldn't worry about that yet

Ok vss issue is likely because that retrofit I bought doesnt quite fit right. I forgot to mention this after I installed it. The retrofit threads are either a little different than what's on my tranny or the threads on the tranny are stripped. You can only tighten it very little or it will jump threads and be loose again. I have it tight as it'll take which isn't much. It's reading way high though, like 20-30mph high. And I don't have the original speedo cable attached to it either, there was absolutely no way it would fit with the retrofit attached. It would hit the body so it's not on but I guess I don't need it since its still reading my speed just high.
